islander-mr3-mooching-trolling-reel
Islander MR3 Mooching/Trolling Reel
The number one selling Islander of all time, the Islander MR3 is a time-tested tool for targeting trophy tyee. The large arbor, cork drag, interchangeable right or left hand retrieve, scalloped drag knob and timeless design combine to form a reel that will catch fish for generations.

Silky Smooth Cork Drag

Over the last couple decades, the Islander MR3’s cork drag has probably caught more salmon than any other system off the coast of British Columbia…And for good reason. The properties of our drag ensure that when even the biggest chinook goes for a run, you have enough stopping power to slow it down and enough smoothness to apply consistent fish fighting pressure.

Large Arbor For Quick Retrieve

The MR3’s spool features a large arbor which increases your retrieval rate so that when that torpedo makes a run at the boat you’ve got the pick up to stay on it. The design also eliminates the need for backing while still providing you with enough capacity for the longest of runs.

Interchangeable Retrieve

For all the lefties out there who are sick of fishing ‘backwards’ the MR3 is your reel. With a simple procedure, you can reel your reel your way.

Custom Laser Engraving

Perfect for retirement gifts, birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events or just a personalized look, this add on ensures your reel will stand out. Leave a note during checkout or give us a call and we’ll provide you with more information.

The laser engraving process permanently etches the anodized finish without fully penetrating the coating to ensure the finish’s anti-corrosive properties are maintained. The process produces a white finish—we cannot engrave in colour.

Model

MR3

Diam.

4.6 in

Spool Width

0.9 in

Weight

12.8 oz

Capacity*

350 yds of 30# monofilament, no backing required

Construction

CNC machined in Canada 6061-T6 solid billet aluminum

Clutch System

CNC machined in Canada 7075-T6 hardcoat anodized aluminum clutch with cork drag surface

Spindle

CNC machined in Canada 316 bar stock stainless steel

Rotation

3 Sealed / double shielded stainless steel ball bearings

Finish

Anodized (All aluminum parts)

Assembly

All assembled by hand in Canada.
