The Wildcat SR is the threaded-muzzle version of Winchester's Wildcat, a semi-automatic .22 LR rimfire rifle built around a polymer receiver and a grey composite stock with a skeletonized butt. Its 16 1/2-inch button-rifled chromoly steel barrel has a recessed target crown and 1/2 in x 28 TPI muzzle threads, covered by a knurled thread protector.

A ghost-ring rear sight and a ramped post front sight are fitted, and a Picatinny rail runs along the top of the receiver. The lower receiver assembly drops out for cleaning.
